John Shadley has a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio, and an MS and Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Houston, specializing in acoustics. He worked as a consultant in acoustics for the Boston firm of Bolt Beranek and Newman Inc. for seven years. In 1977, he joined the Mechanical Engineering faculty of the University of Tulsa where he taught courses in acoustics, vibration, and noise control. While at TU, he started a part-time consulting business in acoustics and vibration which he has continued after leaving the university.
