Vibration Control & Isolation
Vibration isolation solutions not only isolate building occupants from disruptive vibration, they protect buildings from structural fatigue and prolong equipment life. Vibration control permits sensitive electronics, laboratory, and even heavy equipment to work as intended while providing for the quiet enjoyment of the facility. To address vibration issues, we document the vibration energy within the machine, structure, or ground. This information allows us to develop a site-specific remediation plan. Common issues typically addressed include, but are not limited to:
- Vibration-borne noise from footfalls as a result of walking within buildings
- Vibrations from building systems such as elevators, air-handling units, and fans
- Externally generated vibrations which impact nearby residents (i.e. from a rail line or fitness facility)
- Vibrations caused by reciprocating or rotating equipment
- Vibrations from mechanical / electrical / plumbing (MEP) systems
At J.R. Acoustics, we conduct vibration measurements and use the results to recommend vibration isolation solutions. We provide recommendations for vibration isolation of mechanical systems, electrical and plumbing equipment, industrial equipment, and other sources during the design phase of a project or at any point in the life cycle of the structure or equipment. As independent vibration consultants, we don’t represent product manufacturers, suppliers, or other service providers. Accordingly, our clients can be confident our recommendations are free from bias and focused only on the most effective and cost-efficient solution for the challenge at hand.
Industrial Vibration Control

Typical Project - How We Operate
On a typical project, we will meet with you, make some sound level measurements, analyze the present situation and options, and prepare a report of our findings and make recommendations depending on your needs. We do not sell any products; but, we make recommendations for products that will best meet your needs and provide suggestions for where to find them.
